Bangabandhu Satellite's experimental broadcasting started on Tuesday
Bangladesh's first space communications satellite
Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (BS-1) on Tuesday started the experimental activity
through broadcast of South Asian Football Federation (SAF) championship.
According to the official sources, on this occasion, the
BS-1 monitoring agency Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited
(BCSCL) has completed all preparations.
BCSCC chairman said. Shahjahan Mahmud told BSS on Monday
that they are ready to broadcast clear sports using Bangabandhu Satellite-1
through Bangladesh Television (BTV).
Terming this broadcast as "pre-trial" of
commercial activities, he said, "After broadcasting the broadcast rights
of this tournament, we will broadcast it on BTV after broadcasting a private
satellite station."
After taking the satellite into space, all the tests have
been successfully completed. Mahmud said, "Now the time has come for us to
go. We will take a look at the activities of BS-1 through the next two weeks.
Responding to a question about the preparation of local satellite
TV channels, he said that the BCSCL engineers are working to establish
necessary equipment with them.
The chairman said, "For the Bangabandhu-1 satellite
connection, it is necessary to set up some equipment from other
satellites."
He said that this Satellite-based organization Thomas
Alnina Space has not yet handed over the control of two ground stations to the
BCSCL. The initials of these two ground stations are in Gazipur and the
secondary is located in Rangamati.
Starting from Tuesday 12th clearing championship
